Jonathan McDonald

Jonathan started in the industry in 2007, after completing his articles in accounting. He grew through the commercial finance ranks where he built, and was supported by, strong high-performance teams. Over the years his teams unlocked significant value for both the organization and their customers.

In 2015 he took on a new role, heading up service provider and pricing management for an iconic global supply chain organization. This grew his commercial knowledge and he developed great skills in networking, together with a passion for developing and nurturing long term strategic relationships with service providers and customers. This focus of designing solutions which where beneficial and sustainable for all parties in the supply chain became central to his leadership strategies.

At this stage Jonathan stepped away from the global multi-nationals to pursue a different challenge in nurturing and growing a smaller clearing and forwarding company with a more regional focus.

It was then, with a strong foundation of knowledge, experience and relationships, that he proudly founded JLOG International with partners that he had spent his whole career working alongside through various organizations.

Jonathan has served his industry through various local committee seats and a term as a national board member of the South African Association of Freight Forwarders. He continues to believe in being actively involved in developing the industry for the benefit of everyone in South Africa and the region.

Jonathan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the Nelson Mandela University (formerly the University of Port Elizabeth) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Business School of The Netherlands.
